***DHEC will be giving shots FREE of charge.
There is a program called One Sight that will give free glasses to children in need. They do not provide the exam for free. Lens Crafters is a participating provider. Ask your school nurse to write a letter to take along with a prescription (no more that 2 years old) to Lens Crafters Tuesday through Thursday between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Lens Crafters will handle everything else. Call Ms. Chapar, RN if you have any questions.
SC Governor's School- a representative will be here at CEWMS on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 12:30 in the Media Center, to give out information about the school and it's programs. They offer a Discovery school experience for rising 9th and 10th graders during the summer. This is a PUBLIC residential school located in Greenville, SC, that offers a rigorous academic program that is arts infused. Please let Ms. Feldman in the front office know if you or your child are interested in attending this meeting.
Fine Arts Night is here again!! Come and join us for a fun-filled night celebrating the arts at C. E. Williams Middle. There will be a juried art show and musical offerings from strings, chorus and the band - all showcasing our students! Refreshments will be provided by the PTSA. It's all happening on Thursday, December 3rd, from 5:30-7pm in the cafeteria. See you there!

6th Grade Lottery for 2010-11
November 2 - December 4. 2009- Application Packets must be returned to CE Williams Middle School. Application packet must include the application, immunization certificate, bus form and self addressed stamped envelope.
November 2 - December 4, 2009 - Numbers will be ascribed to applications and placed in the lottery.
December 2009 or January 2010 - Lottery will take place at the District #10 Board Meeting.
January 2010- Students and Parents will be informed of their eligibility by mail.
January 22, 2010 - Parents must accept or reject the place at CEW. No response will constitute a rejection.
January 22, 2010 until . . .Parents of students on the waiting list will continue to be notified of available places until all seats are filled.

Personal Pathways to success.
The South Carolina Education and Economic Development Act gives students the opportunity to attend high schools that offer the career cluster of their choice. Charleston County School District promotes these opportunities through the Pathways Magnet Program. Current eighth graders, who will be promoted to the ninth grade, and current ninth grade students can transfer to a high school within their "Pathway Zone" that offers their career cluster if that cluster is not offered in their neighborhood high school.
