Ms. Gadsden's Math Classes

Welcome to Ms. Gadsden's Math/Pre-Algebra Classes

Hello Parents,

I am Blondelle C. Gadsden, your child’s 7th Grade Math/Pre-Algebra teacher. I have been employed within Charleston County School District for 23+ years in various administrative positions as well a Math teacher. I look forward to working with you and your child to successfully finish the 2016-17 school year.

We are winding down the school year and must continue to build on what has been taught and learned during the first three quarters. Since joining the CE Williams staff, I have had the pleasure of working with students and other staff members of the 7th Grade - Team A. I have a better handle on the policies and procedures at CE Williams and will use them to help me continue to deliver the instructional information and activities to address our state standards.

Students were required to have a math binder since the beginning of the school year and I will continue to hold them accountable for keeping their binder organized and updated. All math students are required to have a math binder that should be divided into 4 sections:

  1. “Learning Log”
  2. Homework
  3. Glossary
  4. Graded Papers

The “Learning Log” should show exactly what we did in class each day. It is a written record of each day’s warm-up problems, the objective that we practice, our notes, sample problems and activities. The “homework” section should contain all homework assignments in order by date. The “glossary” will be completed on paper that I will provide the students. It will become a list of the important math vocabulary words that we encounter throughout the remainder of the school year. The “graded papers” section will contain all graded quizzes and tests that are returned to the students. Parents, please monitor your child’s math binder frequently to see what we have been working on in class and to monitor your child’s progress in math. Also, please click on the “Math Calendar” tab on the left side of this page to see the homework assignments and the dates of tests and important class events.

Extra help is available after school on Mondays from 2:30 until 3:30 for pre-algebra students and on Wednesdays from 2:30 until 3:30 for math students. Also tutoring is available during lunch and recess on Wednesdays.

Again, I look forward to working with you and your child! I am certain that we will have a successful remainder of the school year working together!
