Mrs. Cumback - 6th Grade and 8A Counselor
My name is Colleen Cumback and I am excited for a great year at C.E. Williams Middle School for Creative and Scientific Arts! This is my fourth year as a counselor and I have worked in both middle and high schools in the surrounding area. I grew up in Georgia and received my bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and moved to Charleston to attend The Citadel Graduate College where I received my Master of Education in School Counseling degree. I love what I do and couldn't imagine doing anything else. In my spare time I enjoy being with my husband and our daughter, cooking, visiting family and friends, and watching Georgia Bulldogs football. Go Dawgs!
I will be working with Team 8A and 6th Grade students to support their academic, personal, career, and social needs and concerns through classroom guidance and individual and peer group counseling. Middle school is a big transition, but my goal is to help make it as fun and smooth as possible for my 6th Grade students. The transition to high school is big too and can feel overwhelming, but it's my goal to help ease that transition for my 8th Grade students so they feel less concerned and more prepared. Every 8th Grade student along with their parent/guardian will participate in creating their Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) for their freshman year of high school. The IGP conference is designed to help students understand their options for high school courses and career pathways so that they can get started on the right track towards their post-secondary goals. Be on the lookout for more information regarding your student's IGP conference around Winter Break.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have. I can be reached at 843-763-5957 or email@example.com. I hope your student has a wonderful and successful school year! :)
