Ms. Gadsden's Math Classes

Welcome to Ms. Gadsden's Math/Pre-Algebra Classes

Hello Parents,

I am, Blondelle C. Gadsden, your child’s 7th Grade Math/Pre-Algebra teacher. I have been employed within Charleston County School District for 24+ years in various administrative positions as well a Math teacher. I look forward to working with you and your child during the 2017-18 school year.

We have begun a new school year and must continue to build on what has been taught and learned last year. I have had the pleasure of working with students and other staff members of the 7th Grade - Team A. The students and I are working on procedures to help us to have a better handle on the policies and procedures in my class and at CE Williams. Following the policies and procedures helps in two important ways: 1) I can deliver the instructional information and activities to address our state standards and 2) the students will be able to successfully complete the 7th grade mathematics requirements in a safe and secure environment.

Students are required to have a composition notebook for this school year to keep track of important information, graded assignments and notes. I will hold them accountable for keeping their composition notebooks/workbooks organized and updated. All math students are required to keep track of all graded assignments by stapling them inside of their composition notebook/workbook:

  1. Notes
  2. Homework
  3. Glossary
  4. Graded Papers

The “Notes” section should contain all information such as handouts (introductory or re-teach material, graphic organizers, and practice work) for each unit. This section will be used to  record each day’s warm-up problems, the objective that we practice, our notes, sample problems and activities. The “homework” section should contain all homework assignments in order by date. The “glossary” will be the list of the important math vocabulary words that we encounter throughout the remainder of the school year. The “graded papers” section will contain all graded quizzes and tests that are returned to the students. Parents, please monitor your child’s math composition notebook/workbook frequently to see what we have been working on in class and to monitor your child’s progress in math. Also, please click on the “Math Calendar” tab on the left side of this page to see the homework assignments and the dates of tests and important class events.

Extra help is available after school on Mondays from 2:30 until 3:30 for pre-algebra students and on Wednesdays from 2:30 until 3:30 for math students. Also tutoring will be available during lunch and recess on Wednesdays.

Again, I look forward to working with you and your child! I am certain that we will have a successful school year working together!
